We visited Cappelle Medici inside Basilica of San Lorenzo, and then photographed the facade of Basilica di' Santa Maria Novella, from Piazza Santa Maria Novella (before touring the basilica).

Basilica of San Lorenzo in Florence

According to wikipedia, San Lorenzo was the parish church of the Medici family. Medici Pope Leo X commissioned Michelangelo to design the facade, but the work was never completed.
