Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence

Later in the week, we made a proper tour of Basilica of Santa Croce. But isn’t the facade Charming!

Michelangelo, Galileo, and Machiavelli are buried inside.

Piazza di Santa Croce in Florence

Later in the week a Christmas Market went up here in Piazza di Santa Croce.

Iconic Palazzo Vecchio in Florence

Palazzo Vecchio is the Town Hall of Florence, and there is a wonderful tour and museum inside.

Savonarola, Machiavelli, and Cosimo de’ Medici The Elder all had the honor of being imprisoned in the tower.

Iconic Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) in Florence

Ponte Vecchio is a covered bridge filled with shops.

The top deck of the bridge, the Vasari Corridor is an enclosed passage built for the de’ Medici family in 1565, so they could move secretly about the city.

Palazzo Pitti is the 2nd most prestigious art gallery in Florence, and home of the de’ Medici family in the 16th Century.
