Festung Marienberg

Before Würzburg Residenz was built, the Prince-Bishops lived in Marienberg Fortress on the other side of the River Main.

Until 1716, Scissor Gate was a wooden drawbridge leading to the inner courtyard.

Bergfried is a watchtower and dungeon within Innerer Burghof.
