Leaving Salzburg
Wed Nov 30, 2016 10:43 amAs we slowly move in the direction of the train station, we take one last look at Salzburg.
Apfellebkuchenschmarrn is addictive.
Just leaving our room in Goldgasse.
You are looking southeast towards the Salzach River and Neustadt.
You are looking southwest towards the Salzach River and Altstadt){target=_blank}. overlooking Müllner Steg Pedestrian Bridge, with Festung Hohensalzburg in the distance.
The architecture of Mirabell Palace, in Salzburg Neustadt, is Baroque on the inside (rebuilt in the 18th Century), and NeoClassical on the outside(rebuilt in the 19th Century).
Baroque architecture is highly decorative, theatrical with lots of curves. NeoClassical architecture is a re-imagining of the architecture of ancient Rome and Greece.
