On a cold, rainy Sunday Morning in December, the parking lot at Multnomahfornia Falls was full. So we stopped at the Horsetail Falls Trailhead to stretch our legs.

The drama in Oneonta Gorge is how deep and narrow it is. My pained facial expression reflects how cold it is.

The view behind us looks East, towards Cascade Locks and Bonneville Dam. Beacon Rock is visible in the distance.

Surrounding Bonneville Dam are what remains of the historic Bonneville Landslide, which once completely blocked the Columbia River, forming a natural dam 200 feet high, and inspired the moniker Bridge of the Gods.
