Palazzo Pitti
Sun Nov 26, 2017 8:06 amPalazzo Pitti is the Grandest Palace in Florence, primary residence of de' Medici family, and second-most prestigious art gallery in Florence.

The immensity of the facade of Palazzo Pitti is overwhelming and brutal.

Napoleon, in the late 18th Century, also called Pitti Palace home.
According to Wikipedia, the architecture is mostly Renaissance, and I have no reason to disagree. Palazzo Pitti was Europe’s Cultural Center from 1549-1737.

This view is looking at the Vasari Corridor, a private passageway constructed so the VIPs ( de’ Medici) could move secretly about the city.

I think this wood-paneled ceiling is really cool.
