Pergamon Museum

A spectacular museum full of looted artifacts from Egypt, Mesopotamia, Asia-Minor, and Persia, the first museum you visit in Berlin should be Pergamon.

Ishar Gate was built by King Nebuchadnezzar II of glazed bricks with his own words inscribed in cuneiform.

Market Gate of Miletus was actually built by Romans in western Asia-Minor.

Pergamon (unrelated to Miletus) for which the mueum was named, was a major cultural center in the Hellenistic World, which was what became of the Greek-dominated remains of Alexander The Great’s Empire as paritioned after his passing.
