Most Dr. E. Beneše

Dr. E. Beneše Bridge is named in honor of Dr. E. Beneše who was Prime Minister of Czechoslovakia both in 1938 when Czechoslovakia was betrayed at the Munich Agreement, and the Communist Coup of 1948.

Dr. Beneše also ordered the expulsion of Sudeten Germans in 1946, which was particularly devastating to Cesky Krumlov which was 85% German.

Geology

Rivers meander and loop only when flowing on flat land. Yet Cesky Krumlov is surrounded by mountains where Vltava flows through a deep canyon. This suggests that the river established itself before the mountains rose around it.
